Stacking
So i know I can't stack runes of the same type that are non stacking. My question is... is a rune of major death magic and a rune of major curses considering the same type? Will i get +2 to both attibutes?

You will get both bonuses. They are different bonuses and aren't stacked over each other.
Note, though: it's unlikely worth it. Focus of attributes is usually the way to go, and the health price of the runes will make the game much harder. |

However using minor runes doesn't affect health at all.

As has been said, unless two runes are of the same attribute eg Minor Death Magic, Major Death Magic then you can use it no problem. Having multiple runes for your profession is common practise for most players so you can mix Death, Curses, Blood and Soul Reaping in whichever combination you chose.
Also be aware that Vigor runes do not stack, so you will get no benefit from a Minor and Major Vigor. However Vitae runes and runes of attunement do stack so you can use multiple number of these on your armour. For further information check out the wiki page here: http://www.wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Runes Keep your eye out for the runes marked (Non-stacking) |

Runes stack with the bonus from headpieces aswell. For example, you can have a headpiece that gives +1 Curses and use a Minor Rune of Curses to get +2.
